The South West of England includes Cornwall and Devon, and the Cotswolds. Disabled Holiday Information has illustrated first-hand travel guides to four destinations.

Disabled Holiday Information, which is called Disabled Holiday Info for short, is a group based in Shropshire, England. Their website has detailed information for tourists with disabilities, including for people in wheelchairs. The information from Disabled Holiday Information is prepared by disabled travellers for disabled travellers.

More destinations will be added to the Disabled Holiday Info website and publications, so do check back from time to time, or contact them directly from their website for current information.

The five major regions listed on the website now are:

Where is the South West of England?

The South West of England includes King Arthur territory, the southern counties of Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, and a little further north, Somerset, Avon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

Here is a map to give you a better idea of the various regions of England.

The first thing you may notice is that the boundaries of the regions of England aren't always the same on every map or guide you consult. Don't worry about it. Once you start planning your trip, you will be more specific about the towns, cities and counties you want to visit, and that will be all you need to know.

Disabled Holidays Info has information for disabled tourists, including people using wheelchairs, for these South West of England destinations:

All of these places are well described with words and lots of pictures. Once you get into this website, you will realize a couple of things.

  1. There is SO much more to England than London alone - the regions are excellent places to visit.
  2. You CAN be a happy traveller there, even if you have limited mobility or other access challenges.

Please share your experiences and plans to enjoy travel in the South West of England in this Discussion.
