Make Reel Life As Real As Possible
Both a male host and a female hostess can liven up things quite a bit by first setting a good example. For example, the hostess could be Nala the lioness from The Lion King, while her hubby becomes the courageous lion Simba. The children shall form a pride of lion cubs to complete the festive transformation! Make a game out of it and ask party guests to vote for the best costume of the night.
Bring Party Meals to Life
Entice guests with colour themed meals that are befitting of the Halloween season. Use foods that are black, dark or orange in colour. Coloured foods especially in groups of yellow, orange, purple and other colours prove to be beneficial to the body and mind. Try oranges, gooseberries and carrots for the colour orange. For the colour black or the closest hue to it, try squid ink in pasta, poultry or seafood dishes. Liquorice candy will also prove handy when it comes to chocolate cake toppings.
“B” Stands For “Boo” In Buffet
Place several rectangular tables end on end to set the dining mood for a standing buffet so that your guests can move around and mingle freely. Get a clean, doll-sized plastic skeleton from a Halloween shop, lay it across a platter and lay stripped beef chunks in between the plastic ribs! Another idea would be to carefully remove the plastic skeleton ribs and replace them with real pork or beef ribs; complete with onions and generous helpings of thick reddish gravy. It might be advisable to pre-warn guests of the gory surprises in store so that the squeamish crowds are forewarned!
A fully garbed host or hostess in a Halloween ensemble sets a fine example for guests to follow. Insist only on costumed guests at the party compound. Ambience is very important; so set the right mood with Halloween decorations throughout the house, lay out an imaginative dinner menu and see if it doesn’t turn out to be the most interesting Halloween party yet!
