If your flight includes meal service, United offers a variety of special meals.
United Airlines offers a wide variety of special meals to travellers on some of its flights. Meals must be ordered at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Does your flight include a meal?
Not all flights on United Airlines actually include meal service. You can find out whether your flight includes a meal by asking your travel agent, asking United, and by consulting United's website.
If you will be served food on the plane, and you want a special meal, you need to order it at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure time.
What special meals are availble on United Airlines flights?
There are five categories.
- Vegetarian, which has three choices spelled out in detail on United's website:
- Lacto-ovo vegetarian meal
- Vegan meal
- Asian vegetarian meal
- Religious diets, which has three choices spelled out in detail on United's website:
- Hindu meal
- Kosher meal
- Muslim meal
- Children's meals and Baby meals
- Medical diets, of which there are eight choices
- Diabetic meal
- Low purine meal
- Low fat / low cholesterol meal
- Low calorie meal
- High fibre meal
- Low protein meal
- Low sodium meal
- Gluten-free meal
Other Special Meals
- Chilled fruit plate
- Obento Japanese meals - on certain flights only.
