The Easter Seals searchable database from the United States presents information to help travelers with accessibility issues.
The other day I wrote about Accessible Chicago and Catherine Marsden's great work there to get the word out about wheelchair travel in Chicago.
Today I searched "Chicago" on the National Accessible Traveler's Database. This database is part of Project Action, from the Easter Seals organization in America. It is a database of accessible travel services in the United States intended to help travelers and people in the travel industry.
To find the database from the Project Action home page, you select it from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
The ProjectAction website has another page with links for accessible travel resources.
My "Chicago" search pulled up 40 hits, many of which were the names and contact information for different services and businesses, and a tag indicating how they relate to accessible travel. For example, a number of hotels had "Hotel Shuttle".
The database looks like a great starting point for an information search, but as the results are not checked by the Easter Seals people, they do not endorse these services. They rely upon the businesses listed to provide correct information.
