Writing about the Rose Garden Motel in Geelong, near Melbourne, Australia, reminded me of how nice it is not to have to pack up every day or two when on vacation.
I have a friend who occasionally travels with his 80-year old mother. They both love the gypsy style of moving forward, sleeping in a new place every night. Well, I like that part, but I hate the packing and all the fiddling about that seems to accompany a move.
When I found the Rose Garden, I was pretty sure it would work well for my travelling style, and I was right. Proof, I guess, that I should stick to my own "base camp" preference and let others be the daily movers.
